Legionella Training
Legionella bacteria can be found in a wide variety of environments, left un-checked it can proliferate and pose life-threatening illness. The danger of becoming exposed to Legionella bacteria is the exposed individual could develop Legionnaires’ Disease.
Legionnaires’ Disease is a potentially fatal lung infection that is characterised mainly by pneumonia. It can affect anybody, but those groups of people classified as being particularly susceptible include:
- People that are ages over 45
- Anyone with suppressed immune systems
- Heavy smokers and/or heavy drinkers
- Individuals with weak lungs or those suffering from kidney disease
By attending our one-day Legionella Risk Assessment and Disinfection course at Lincolnshire Gas Training, we will provide you with the training you need to identify the risks Legionella Bacteria pose, and both where and how to implement the control measures to reduce and remove these risks.
We will also guide you through the process of disinfection, so you then hold the necessary skills to fully cleanse a system and remove any Legionella Bacteria that may be present.
This qualification is current for five years following successful completion of your assessment.
We find this course is beneficial to anyone who works in Residential Care Homes, Healthcare Premises, Schools, Landlord Properties, Factories, Company Offices, and those who feel a duty of care toward their vulnerable customer base.
