OFTEC Oil Courses – Initial Students

The Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) was formed in April 1991 with the aim of improving standards within the oil firing industry in the UK. The members of the association are made up of representatives from oil companies, oil distributors, manufacturers of oil firing equipment, and training and assessment centres such as Lincolnshire Gas Training.

In addition to OFTEC being a trade organisation, it operates a ‘Competent Persons Register’. This allows technicians that undergo training & assessments the opportunity to register with OFTEC, and in turn self-certify their installation work with local/regional Building Regulations.

By becoming a member of OFTEC’s Competent Persons Register you can promote your business with OFTEC stationary. To proudly display the OFTEC logo clearly shows you are now part of the competent persons scheme and work in accordance with OFTEC guidelines and relevant Building Regulations as any true professional should.

In addition to technical support, OFTEC will also make available current relevant information and provide you with any technical updates that highlight changes or advancement within the industry all as part of your annual membership.

At Lincolnshire Gas Training we offer the training & assessment for both Domestic and Commercial Oil Appliances and have over fifteen years’ experience of doing so in our Scunthorpe based centre.

These oil appliances are both Pressure Jet and Vaporising (Wet & Dry), so we can offer qualifications to engineers looking to install service and repair both conventional and condensing Heat Only Boilers, Combination Boilers, Range Cookers (AGA for example) and Heating Stoves (such as ESSE).
